Close, Closer - the third edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale examines the political, technological, emotional, institutional, and critical forms of global spatial practice. By questioning the terminology, inspirations, and inventions of other disciplines and their influences in an open forum, we draw the myriad authors of the contemporary city closer to new vital audiences and dialogues.
The New City Reader is an art project and public newspaper. Its second edition is part of the 2012 Istanbul Design Biennial. Together with writer Tom-Keeley, I commissioned and edited the 'Letters' pages, which was formed by letters to Istanbul from authors, curators, artists and architects connected to the city including Orhan Pamuk, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Alejandro Zaero-Polo. The newspaper is printed and exhibited in public spaces around the city .
A catalogue essay reflecting on Andrés Jacque / Office for Political Innovation's provocative installation in the Barcelona Pavilion. The project takes place in the 1980s reproduction of Mies' most famous work, and the text examines the relationship between idol-worship, architecture and reality, and the ubiquitous modernist state of cleanliness.
